Gym, Physical Education class.
It doesn't matter what you call it, it's just the exact same thing. Most kids say gym, it's the "sweaty class", As I know, everyone thinks gym is number one. Especially when we're doing something like,... oh I don't know... maybe... kickball!? All of the boys think that they're so "COOL" or they'd say, "My team is gonna be lucky that I'm on their team... or they'd be in trouble!", or "We're gonna win for sure with ME on their team!", and all of that stupid brag stuff.
In my mind, I thought, "Okay stay calm. So what that they have Kobe, the class clown, on their team? We still have Christian R. & Jacob P., the best kickers we know, on our team. Avery, just chill out, better yet, take a chill pill, you'll need it".
I still knew even though Kobe wasn't the best at kicking, he had a SUPER - HARD arm! In other words, he throws HARD!!! One things for sure, when Kobe throws at someone, it has a crazy - accurate aim, and if it hits, it sends that person...sprawling on the floor, which really freaked me out!
I was after Olivia P., one of my friends. Kobe's team was out on the field & my team was kicking. Olivia kicked... "FOUL BALL!" everyone yelled, for Olivia almost tripped head over heels on that small ball. She tried again & Kobe caught it. "TWO OUTS" yelled Kobe's team. Everyone shuffled their feet and stared at the ground. Just one more out & we would have to switch, & our turn would be finished. "We need a miracle", I thought to myself.
"Your next!!!", "Oh me?", I asked. "Uhh yea!!! Come on!" "Oh... okay", I replied. I shuffled over to the platform. I could feel the sweat dripping from my head. I took a deep breath & I nodded to the pitcher, to let him know I was ready. He threw the ball underhand, & very quickly I kicked the ball as hard as I could, it went right over Kobe's head! "YES!", I thought, as I ran to first base. I quickly jerked my head to see the ball... It was bouncing around peoples feet, so I took the risk... and went for a home run!I was just one base away from getting a home run when suddenly Kobe grabbed the ball as I was a foot away from scoring a home run. I caught a quick glimpse of Kobe firing the ball at my head! I did some quick 3 second thinking & I DUCKED AND RAN! (Which by the way, reminded me of a running NINJA). I looked while ducking and running & watched the ball sail over my head. I quickly ran... and... "HOME RUN!!!" my team roared. "YES!", I yelled. "My first home run ever!!!", I yelled. My first home run ever! "Did you hear that?", I said... EVER! EVER! EVER!
"Boys think their so good? Girls can be tough too, you know!", I thought to myself. What I thought was true!
Noone can be good at everything, but it's good to try things your not good at... Like kickball for instance.
